BCA PROGRAM OUTLINE

BCA began in SRFGCC in 2023. The Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) curriculum is designed, keeping in mind the rapid progress in the technological world. The three-year undergraduate BCA technical professional programme aims to develop the student's software development abilities.

 

Ø  The aspiring specialists in Computer Applications are offered the required fundamental base to become a potential winner of the race. If one wishes to stay ahead in the highly competitive market, then BCA is right choice for him/her.

Ø  The BCA programme equips students with both the theoretical knowledge and the practical experience needed for a variety of job roles.

RESEARCH PROJECTS:



The Department of Computer Applications organized an orientation programme for the I BCA students. The programme commenced with a prayer song. Dr. Jyoti G Biradar(Patil) welcomed the staff and students present. Dr. S.S Terdal, Principal, SRFGCC addressed the students. The different courses of the programme were made known to the students. They were also briefed about the various curricular and co-curricular activities and all the other facilities available in the department. This was followed by an informal programme which included an ice breaking session. They were also taken around the college campus to familiarize them with the facilities offered by the college .

COURSE OUTCOMES:

Ø &nb sp; Students shall be able to demonstrate the knowledge of fundamentals of basic sciences, mathematics & logical reasoning, communication skills and implementing IT concepts while designing technological applications and innovative ideas.

Ø &nb sp; Students shall exhibit an ability to identify, formulate & select appropriate software & apply its use in solving complex problems.

Ø &nb sp; Students shall demonstrate an ability to develop programs which are useful in solving real life problems by analyzing & interpreting data.

Ø &nb sp; Students shall be able to identify the various hardware components & design the assembly.

Ø &nb sp; Students shall possess the knowledge of design techniques, analysis, coding, testing, operation & maintenance of networks, databases, and information & data security and computer systems.

Ø &nb sp; The College intends to work on students deliberately so as they possess the knowledge of design techniques, analysis, coding, testing, operation & maintenance of networks, databases, and information & data security and computer systems.

Ø &nb sp; Students shall participate& pursue for the higher studies to excel in their academics.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES:

By the end of the program the following outcomes will be achieved by the students:

1. Discipline knowledge : Acquiring knowledge on basics of Computer Science and ability to apply to design principles in the development of solutions for problems of varying complexity

2. Problem Solving: Improved reasoning with strong mathematical ability to Identify, formulate and analyze problems related to computer science and exhibiting a sound knowledge on data structures and algorithms.

3. Design and Development of Solutions: Ability to design and development of algorithmic solutions to real world problems and acquiring a minimum knowledge on statistics and optimization problems. Establishing excellent skills in applying various design strategies for solving complex problems.

4. Programming a computer: Exhibiting strong skills required to program a computer for various issues and problems of day-to-day applications with thorough knowledge on programming languages of various levels.

5. Application Systems Knowledge: Possessing a sound knowledge on computer application software and ability to design and develop app for applicative problems.

6. Modern Tool Usage: Identify, select and use a modern scientific and IT tool or technique for modelling, prediction, data analysis and solving problems in the area of Computer Science and making them mobile based application software.

7. Communication: Must have a reasonably good communication knowledge both in oral and writing.

8. Project Management: Practicing of existing projects and becoming independent to launch own project by identifying a gap in solutions.

9. Ethics on Profession, Environment and Society: Exhibiting professional ethics to maintain the integrality in a working environment and also have concern on societal impacts due to computer-based solutions for problems.

10. Lifelong Learning: Should become an independent learner. So, learn to learn ability.

11. Motivation to take up Higher Studies: Inspiration to continue educations towards advanced studies on Computer Science.
