The Political Science department is one among popular
Humanistic Science it’s established in 2007 along with the establishment of
our
college. Political Science undergraduate program was born out of recognition of
the increasing significance of cross-disciplinary studies in the social
sciences. Since Inception the department in quite achieve in
maintaining a harmonious balance between the staff and students of the
department and inculcate civic culture and healthy political values in the mind
of our students. The department of political science is one among the few
departments of the college to produces more than 95% of result In B.A political science examination conducted by Rani
Channamma University.

Dr. Prakash S. Kattimani presently serving as an HOD and Assistant Professor in Department of in Political Science, SangolliRayanna First Grade Constituent College, Rani Channamma University, Belagavi, Karnataka. He has been graduated M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from Karnataka University, Dharwad. His areas of research are Local Government in India, Government and Politics and Dalit Movements in Karnataka. He has cleared UGC-NET and JRF both. He has published research papers in various books, journals bearing ISBN and ISSN number. He has participated and presented research papers in various state, national and international seminars and conferences. He has been invited by various colleges and institutions for special lecture. Dr. MalleshDoddalakkannavar has completed his Graduation with Distinction from Beynon-Smith Methodist Degree College in 2004. In 2005 he completed Bed with Distinction from Sagar College of Education Belagavi. He completed Post Graduation in Political Science at Karnatak University, Dharwad in 2007. In 2013 he cleared K-SET Examination. In 2018 he awarded Ph.D. degree from Rani Channamma University under the guidance of Dr. Kamalaxi Tadasad, Chairman Department of Political Science. On the topic of“Role of NGO’s in the protection of Human Rights in North Karnataka”.
He started his career as Political science Lecturer in 2007 at Beynon-smith Methodist Degree College, Belagavi and served 10 years there. Later he joined as guest faculty in political science at Sangolli Rayanna First Grade Constituent College, Belagavi in 2014 to still date. He also served as a lecturer 07 years in various PU colleges of Belagavi.
He trained as a NSS Programme Officer, conducted by NSS Empanelled Training Institution for Karnataka. University of Mysore in 2016. He was served as NSS Programme officer for 3 years in Beynon-Smith Methodist Degree College and 2 years in SangolliRayanna First Grade Constituent College Belagavi. He conducted 3 NSS Annual Special camps and Participated in 02 National Integration Camp as Contingency Leader of NSS cell RCU.
Dr. Malleshcontributed in research and publications also. Total 17 of his articles published in ISBN/ISSN reputed national and international journals. Also presented various research papers in National and International Conferences. Dr. Mallesh is a life member of Karnataka Political Science teachers association, Vice-President of Rani Channamma University College’s Political Science Teachers Association. He has total 15 years of teaching experience at UG level.
