About Cell

SRFGCC is a co-educational institution providing equal opportunities to all. Men and women work together in a congenial atmosphere, however, if there are any complaints involving physical contact or advances, demand for sexual favors, sexually tainted remarks, and any unwelcome physical, verbal, or nonverbal expressions of a sexual nature; it is addressed and appropriate action is taken. This cell aims at sensitizing the students and staff to work diligently to prevent sexual harassment in the college. Complaints of sexual harassment shall be lodged with the Committee and appropriate disciplinary action is initiated by the members by the college rules and regulations.
Why ICC?
It is formed according to the provisions of the POSH ACT-Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act of 2013, 9th December 2013. (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal).
It is also mentioned in the University Grants Commission (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal of sexual harassment of women employees and Students in higher educational institutions) Regulations, 2015- 2 and May 2016.

What is ICC?
The POSH Act demanded an ICC be made at all workplaces for the redressal of sexual harassment cases.

Procedure for filing a Complaint

Procedure for filing a Complaint with ICC at SRFGCC
Complaints regarding Sexual Harassment must be made in writing (legible handwriting) or typed on paper.
The nature of the complaint should be clearly stated in detail with dates and locations.
As per the stipulation of The Act, the aggrieved person can make a written complaint of sexual harassment at the workplace within three months from the date of the incident and in case of a series of incidents, within three months from the date of the last incident.
The complaint must be in no case anonymous and the aggrieved person’s name and address should be legible.
As per the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Rules, 2013, in case the aggrieved woman is unable to make a complaint on account of her physical incapacity, a complaint may be filed inter alia by her relative or friend or her co-worker or an officer of the National Commission for Woman or State Women’s Commission or any person who knows about the incident, with the written consent of the aggrieved woman.
The written complaint should be handed over to any internal member of the ICC SRFGCC

Functions of ICC


To prevent sexual harassment in the workplace.
To prevent discrimination and sexual harassment against girls by promoting gender amity among students and employees
To conduct periodical programmes on women’s empowerment.
To provide a conducive environment and congenial atmosphere for women.

Who can approach ICC?
Any aggrieved woman who has suffered harassment at the workplace can approach ICC.
Aggrieved woman includes:
a. Woman who is an employee, or
b. Someone visiting the workplace, or
c. Student.
