About Our College
The Government of Karnataka and Department of Collegiate Education, with the aim to bring quality education at the college level within the reach of a common man, established the Government First Grade College in Belagavi, with a Vide Notification No: DCE/ED/NC/2006/07, dated 03-06-2006. College began its journey of serving education to students from the academic year 2006-07. Prof. S. S. Khot. Grade-I Principal, took over the charge as the first Principal of the college. Under his leadership, the college was able to obtain the land at the heart of the city.
Rani Channamma University, earlier called as Kittur Rani Channamma PG Centre of KUD, Became a full pledged University in the year 2010 under the dynamic leadership & First Vice Chancellor Prof. B. R. Ananthan. With the continuous efforts of Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of RCU, the Government of Karnataka announced that the Government First Grade College, Belagavi shall become the Constituent College of Rani Channamma University. Belagavi on 01.01.2013. The "GOVERNMENT FIRST GRADE COLLEGE. BELAGAVI" has been renamed as "SANGOLLI RAYANNA FIRST GRADE CONSTITUENT COLLEGE" and Prof. M. A. Dhavaleshwar, Grade-1 Principal took charge as the first principal of the Constituent College.
In the first year of its establishment i.e. 2006-07, the college started BA and BCom courses, in a rented building. BSc course was started from the academic year 2010-11 and further BBA course was added from the academic year 2011-12. Read More...
